Traveling to Aussie Land

The travel day was much more than a travel day...  I left on February 29, crossed the international date line and landed in Brisbane on March 2nd.  I didn't even get to see March 1.  Oh well, must not have been much of a day if I didn't even get to see it.  :)

The flights were easy but the sleeping was tough.  Got a couple of hours of interrupted sleep and am experiencing that wonderful numb jet lag/sleep deprivation phase of long distance, multiple time zones, different hemispheres travel.  But I must say...  what a sunrise I did see from the plane.  It was stunning.  The sun crept up over the horizon and lit up the clouds like an awesome tapestry of crimsons and yellows and orange.  The clouds cooperated by being of different configurations and height, depth and consistencies.  That added such complexity that is indescribable.
If this is what the sensory overload is going to be like for this trip...  Wow, I am in for a treat.  This is just the beginning!  Can't wait for the rest to unfold.  Stay tuned.

The moment of sunrise seen from the plane.  Awesome!

The sun lighting up the clouds and highlighting their contrasts.  Wish this would have captured all the colors that I saw.

At last Australian coast is crossed.
