Additionally, last night the temps got down into the 40's which made it exceptionally COLD! I had to periodically get out of my sleeping bag and put on clothes... first socks, then a shirt, etc. Brrrrrr ๐จ
Today, well today was a tough day. We rode 115 kilometers and climbed over 1,700 meters. We started out early and it was cold.... Remember last night got down into the 40's again. And when we headed out this morning it was barely 50. I was cold through most of the day. Even to the point of shivering on the bike. The clouds were thick and that kept the sun from warming us up. There was a wind that would come up and make you feel even colder. What happened to summer in this hemisphere???
Also, a calamity struck today. There are no photos to post because the iPhone I have been using as a camera and posting to the blog has bit the dust. It fell out of my packet onto the road and then it was run over by a car. ๐ It turns out that these iPhones are a tad bit fragile when it comes to being run over by a car. It turns on but you cannot see anything since the screen is destroyed. It is not one of those situations where the screen is cracked. The screen is destroyed. This will make blogging and photos harder to accomplish until I arrive at an alternative. So stay tuned as I ride thru Australia and work on my communication dilemma.
Oh, no - too bad about your phone! Although better the phone gets run over than you get run over.... Don't worry about no photos. Your descriptions make us feel we're right there with you! Debra
ReplyDeleteThanks Debra, yes better the phone than me... ๐
DeleteI hope that your Phone can be fixed, I miss the photo's.
ReplyDeleteDo you always camp? Not enough hotels on this route?
Hetty
Hetty, the camping is what the organizers set up. We stay indoors when we have rest days.
