Here is the view from the front veranda:
We spent the afternoon playing in the waves and trying to body surf. The wind and the waves are unusually strong due to remnants of the cyclone that devastated Fiji. Surfing is big in this area as we saw a good number of surfers battling the waves today. There were several little kids who were out surfing. They made it look so easy and fun. As a matter of fact they made it look so easy that I am going to take lessons tomorrow and try to surf myself. Heck why not! It could be quite the experience. At the least I will be able to provide some comic relief to any who would be watching. :)
Mike, I feel bad. In the whole managirie of things that are intent on causing grevious bodily harm, the Magpie was so far down the list I never thought of it. Ask your friends about the box jellyfish. I believe it is OK in Queensland for a man to wear stockings in the water and still retain his manhood. Apparently many do... Regards, Scott.
ReplyDeleteYes, I mistakenly thought I was prepared for the dangers that awaited me down under. But alas, I did not know that I needed to bring eye protection against the magpies. :(
