Perfect rest day...
It was bright and sunny with temps in the 80's. Explored the town of Beechworth which is an old gold rush town that made it big.
They discovered gold in the 1880's and it became a town overnight. But unlike most gold boom towns it survived. Or at least it is now a sleepy little 4 pub town that closes about 7 pm. 😉
There is a beautiful trail that circles town called the Gorge Trail. It has some fantastic vistas and goes along the creek that started the discovery off gold.
This creek has cut its path through granite boulders over the years.
As the creek becomes a river it has led to a beautiful waterfalls and the ensuing deposits of gold at the end.
This discovery of gold at that point led to full scale mining and the bustling town.
Also, managed to let the legs rest up, did some laundry, cleaned the bike and made a couple of adjustments to her for the next leg of the adventure!
