Started unpacking the bike today and noticed a whole new set of tape on the top flap of the box. It read TSA Inspected. Picture that... a well caring TSA person carefully going through my bike. Right!!!
In packing the bike I went to great care to ensure that it was tucked in there as snug as a bug. I had extra foam padding and spacers for the hubs along the wheels and side of the box. I made sure the front wheel wasn't being pressured by the frame etc. Well I might as well have just thrown it in the box and taped it shut because that is what TSA did. They obviously poked around in there and couldn't quite get everything back in it. So they shoved what they could and then just taped her shut. No irreparable damage but I am going to have to true the wheels and adjust derailleurs significantly.
