Anticipation

Can't sleep, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.  It is really quite neat...  there is such an element of electricity through the group.  Everyone is ready to go with high levels of anticipation.  There are 32 full tour riders and 7 sectional riders at the start.  More sectional riders will join later along the way.   There is quite a wide eclectic variety of riders.  There are riders from early 20's to late 60's and of the mix there are 11 female riders.  The one common thread through the group is they are glad to be here amount the others.  They are glad because finally they are with people who don't keep telling them that they are crazy.  They are with people who "get it".  Well I do believe we are going to get it soon.  They are now predicting rain mid morning.  Nothing like a cold wet start to the tour.  But hey, it doesn't get any better than this.  I'm going to be biking along the Pyramids, by the Sphinx and out into the Sahara Desert!  What a day ahead!!!!

We went to a restaurant just up the street last night but could not get in because they were having an engagement party for a couple. It is a big thing in Egypt.  They had a procession looping through the restaurant that was being led by a traditional Arab band complete with garb.  It was an experience to see.
