Day 2

Day 2 long tough day.  The 103 miles turned into 110 mile ride.  We were joined by the Egyptian cycling team today.  We started out in a 12 person peleton and were doing 50+ kph into a headwind.  I dropped out about 40 miles in as I was missing the scenery.  We had the beauty of the Red Sea to our left and the starkness of the Sahara to our right.  Awesome!!!
The Red Sea had so many colors to it, greens and aquas and blues and purples.  There were huge cargo ships all heading towards the Suez Canal.

It was a good cycling day but very tough and long.  The legs are not quite up to speed yet.  Once again it was a cold day.  Even the Egyptian Cyclist said this is very cold for here.  I do believe somehow I got on the wrong plane and am actually cycling Alaska!

Here is where we are now.

You can see how the sand has filled in the valleys of the mountain

We are going to have to go up and over these in a couple of days

Taking a much needed break
