Safari photos Day 2

Here are some of the exciting moments from Day 2.  So many it was hard to choose...

Male lion that was laying in the grass with another male in the mid day heat.  They were both panting because they were so hot.

This was one of the lions from the pride that had made a kill of a Cape buffalo.  This one gorged himself so much his stomach is bloated.  He just laid down and went to sleep.

Here is another from the pride that was waiting her turn to feed.

The pride eating the fresh zebra kill.  You can see the young one playing with the head.

The cheetah family...  Mother and two children.

These are but a sampling of the wonderful pictures from the fantastic day.  :)

  1. Two days activity and a lifetime of memories! An unbelievable variety of experiences. The natural "poses" and expressions on the animal faces express freedom to be what they are, very regal. So different than how they look in a zoo. . All that's missing are a couple shots of Tarzan and Jane! This trip just keeps getting better!

  2. Hey Mike, I noticed that a number of these photos blend right in with the backround wallpaper of your journal. In a couple cases the lions seem to spill right off the photos onto the background. The grass looks the same also. Pretty neat!

  3. Please put the rest of your photos us as you get a chance. One day all of this could be gone.

    Thanks

  5. Mike,

Love the picture and your commentary. Let me know if you got my email or if you can get email. All I can say is,
I am jealous (maybe not of the roads, the heat, the rock throwing, the food etc.) but WOW what a trip. You are the MAN.
