Day 69 - March 19

Well today was extremely tough.  It was all sand and loose gravel for the first 12 miles.  Then it deteriorated into a rutted mess of washed away stone and rocks.  It was a day to forget.  I cannot think of a positive spin on it ... so I will only say:

Tomorrow will be a better day.

  1. I knew bad roads would come into play.

Good luck. Drink and enjoy nature.

  2. I am so glad you are back in communication, we were worried that we haven't heard from you. You look fantastic.

Eat whatever you can and as much as you can, you need fuel to go on...a car can't run on an empty tank of gas! Keep hydrated and be safe.

    We luv you,

  3. Mike, so glad to see that your new entries are posted. We were all concerned over your well-being. I'm passing along a comment from Claudia -- she has been following your daily postings, but has a issue with posting comments. So, here is quote from an recent email to me:

"I have been following Mike's trip from day one and I was as worried as you, when we didn't hear from him for so many days. Of course, I thought and probably you did the same, okay lack of communication for one or two days, but not for that long, almost a week. As we well know, there are so many things it can happen on a bike, and more in Africa! I was glad while enjoying my cup of coffee that he had his blog caught up. Phew!"
